بم أدركت العلم ؟ قال : أدركت العلم بلسان سؤول ،وقلب عقول ، وبدن غير ملول

Ibn Abbas رضي الله عنهما was asked:

How did you gain your knowledge?

He said: I gained it with an inquisitive tongue (i.e. a tongue that asks questions) , an understanding heart, and a body that doesn’t get tired.
