📝Question: When does [the legislated time for] the bath of the day of jumu’ah begin; does it begin [after maghrib] the previous night, or after the fajr prayer, or [is it] after sunrise?

✅Response: The [legislated time for the] bath of the day of jumu’ah begins from [the time of] fajr until sunset. However, [doing so] before going for the jumu’ah prayer is best.

A small abstract of a poem on the correct belief one should have as someone who adheres to the sunnah [

A small abstract of a poem on the correct belief one should have as someone who adheres to the sunnah. Entitled ‘Laamiyah’, attributed to Shaykhul Islam Ibn Taymiyyah (May Allah have mercy on him):

وأقول في القرآن ما جاءت به آياته فهو الكريم المنزل
And I say regarding the Qur’an (only) that which has come [in its] verses, for it is the Noble Revelation

And I say, “Allah, the Mighty and Majestic said [and likewise] ‘the chosen one (نبينا صلى الله عليه وسلم) [said],” and I do not explain away (their speech)

And all the verses of the attributes I pass them on in truth, just as the first (and best of generations) have transmitted [without explaining them away]

And I return the obligatory responsibility towards them to those who transmitted them (intact) and I protect them from all that is imagined (with respect to their realities)

”Admonish me and be brief’”

A man came to the Prophet (sallallaahu alayhi wasallam) and said: ”Admonish me and be brief’”; so the Prophet (sallallaahu alayhi wasallam) said to him:
إِذَا قُمْتَ فِي صَلَاتِكَ فَصَلِّ صَلَاةَ مُوَدِّعٍ
”When you stand for your prayer, then pray a farewell prayer (i.e. as if it is your last Salah before death).”
”Do not speak with a statement for which you may have to apologize tomorrow.”
”And forgo what is in the hands of the people (i.e. do not be desperate for the worldly possessions of the people).”

(Sharh us-Sunnah, 149)

Imaam Al-Barbahaaree said, “However, if you see a person whose manner and opinion is despicable, he is wicked, sinful and oppressive, yet he is a person of the Sunnah, accompany him and sit with him, since his sin will not harm you. If you see a man who strives hard and long in worship, is abstemious, being continual in worship, except that he is a person of innovation, do not sit with him, do not listen to his words and do not walk along with him, since I do not feel safe that you will not eventually come to be pleased with his way and go to destruction along with him.”

(Sharh us-Sunnah, 149)

Imam Ibn Al-Qayyium said, “For the people of sins there are 3 great rivers

Imam Ibn Al-Qayyium said, “For the people of sins there are 3 great rivers with which they purify themselves in this world and if these do not suffice in purifying them, then they are purified in the river of Hellfire on the Day of Judgment:

1. A river of sincere repentance.

2. A river of good deeds that drowns the sins that surround it.

3. And a river of great calamities (that befall the sinner) that expiate (his sins)

Therefore, when Allah intends good for His slave, He enters him into one of these 3 rivers, so he comes purified and cleansed on the Day of Judgement, not requiring the fourth purification.

And the forth purification: The river of Hellfire on Yaum Al-Qiyamah.

So swim in the river of repentance and doing good deeds and have patience in the river of calamities. And do not neglect these before a day comes when you will be drowned in the river of Hell-fire whose fuel is men and stones”

The Prophet (ﷺ) used to take care of us in preaching by selecting a suitable time

Narrated Ibn Mas`ud:

The Prophet (ﷺ) used to take care of us in preaching by selecting a suitable time, so that we might not get bored. (He abstained from pestering us with sermons and knowledge all the time).

❄ Winter: the season of the worshipers.

❄ Winter: the season of the worshipers.

`Ubaid Ibn `Umair said: When the winter approached, they (the Salaf) (the pious predecessors) used to say:

❝O people of the Qur’aan*!

▶ The night has been elongated for you to pray (with ease).

▶ And the day has been shortened for you to fast (with ease).

So seize the opportunity (for doing more good deeds in this season).❞
