The Ruling on a Woman Going Out to Work – Shaikh Abdul-Muhsin al-‘Abbad

Darussaafi's avatarSalafiyyah

Question: How do we reconcile between the statement of Allah :

وَقَرْنَ فِي بُيُوتِكُنَّ

And stay in your houses [33:33]

And between the Hadith:

اخْرُجِي فَجُدِّي نَخْلَكِ لَعَلَّكِ أَنْ تَصَدَّقِي وَتَفْعَلِي مَعْرُوفًا ‏

Go out and take the harvest of your date palms, for perhaps you will give Zakah or do some good (give voluntary charity).

[Sunan Nasaai 3550]

Because some people use that as evidence for a woman to go out to work without a need?

Answer: “As long as she is the owner of the palm tree and she has a need to take it and there is none to take her place, then there is no harm in a woman going out for this necessity. Also, there is no harm in her going out for a need. Like a woman working at a school or as an employee between women in an environment of women…

Let her remember that one day she will depart from this life.

“Let her remember that one day she will depart from this life. There will come a day when she, along with her beautiful body, her tempting good looks, her adorning of herself, and her tribulation of men will be placed in a hole, dirt will be heaved on her, and worms will eat her; her beauty and glamour will leave her, and she will be in that hole, dependant upon her actions and shackled to what she put forth in this life. There were women before her who lived in castles, then they lived in graves wherein there were petrifying conditions, heads detached from bodies, and eyes hanging on cheeks. So, let the Muslim woman fear Allaah and prepare for this day it’s proper preparation.”

What do you advise for the one seeking legislative knowledge, but he is far from the scholars

A Famous Question everyone asks about seeking knowledge answered by ibn Utheymeen Rahimahullah;

Q) what do you advise for the one seeking legislative knowledge, but he is far from the scholars along with knowledge, but before him is collection of books from them are Usool and the summarized books?

A) I advice him with that he is keen and eager upon being a student of Knowledge and seek aid from Allah the most powerful and high, then take help from the knowledgeable people. If a person meets knowledge at the hands of the scholar, he will learn more in shorter period of time then the number of book and he will be faced with many opinions that were differed over. I don’t say like the one says, “it is not possible to reach (gain) knowledge except with a scholar or a sheikh” this is not correct. Because the reality is that he is lying, but if you study with a Sheikh, he will clarify for you the way and specify it.

So it is waajib to return to the Book of Allaah and Sunnah of the Messenger

Ash-Shaykh Saalih al-Fawzaan, may Allaah preserve him, said:

“Indeed in this time there has appeared a people who say: “the matter is an issue of difference of opinion” , so we say: when there is ikhtilaaf the proof should be followed, we have not been requested to use the kilaaf of the people and the opinions of the people a source of worship rather we have been requested to use the proof as a source of worship… so it is waajib to return to the Book of Allaah and Sunnah of the Messenger. As for the one who chooses the opinion that coincides with his desires even if opposes the daleel then this person is misguided , he worships his own desire, as for the one who worships Allaah then he chooses that which is proof based from the Book of Allaah and Sunnah of the Messenger , alaihi as-salaatu was-salaam”.

The Ruling On Paying Debts To A Drug Dealer – Shaikh Ibn Uthaymeen

Question:

A man had the habit of using drugs, then he repented and Allah guided him to the straight path. So what is your guidance for him and the one who is in a similar situation? If he has debts due to people for these drugs or people request money from him due to these drugs, does he take the money he has and pay what is owing on him knowing it is for drugs?

Answer:

First: We congratulate this man whom Allah blessed with steadfastness and leaving off nonsense affairs and the destroyers of the souls. We say, ‘All praise is due to Allah for this rescue which by it you have been saved.’

Second: everything that he earned from this unlawful way is unlawful upon him. However, as for what is with him then Allah, the Exalted said:

فَمَنْ جَاءَهُ مَوْعِظَةٌ مِنْ رَبِّهِ فَانتَهَى فَلَهُ مَا سَلَفَ وَأَمْرُهُ إِلَى اللَّه

So whosoever receives an admonition from his Lord and stops eating Riba (usury) shall not be punished for the past; his case is for Allah (to judge);

[2:275]

Except that if he has the drugs themselves, then it is obligatory to destroy them. As for the receivables of the people, then he has taken it from them. However, he gives it in charity to free himself from it, not as a means to draw near to Allah. It is not possible that he returns it to the people so that they combine between the compensation [for the product] and the product. Rather we say: take what is from their receivables and give it in charity and do not enter it into your wealth. Rather, give it as charity to get rid of it and that will solve the issue.

As for what he owes the people for the cost of these drugs, then he should prevent paying it back. He should say, ‘I will not pay you because this is something unlawful. Unlawful things do not have price in the legislation.’ However, in this situation, he gives charity in the amount he took from the people so that he does not combine between having the compensation [for the product] and the product.

Should A Former Gang Member Turn Himself In If He Repented – Shaikh Abdul-Muhsin Al-Abbaad

Question:

A man in the disbelieving lands was involved in a group (gang) that used to loot and steal. Then he repented and made his repentance good. The government is looking for him now. Is his repentance sufficient or should he turn himself in to the government?

Answer:

If he repented, Allah returns to the one who repents to him. However, the rights of the people are upon him. If he knows the people, then he returns it to them. If he does not know them, then he gives charity on their behalf. If he repented, then he does not turn himself in. If they take him or something happens, perhaps Allah, if he is truthful, He will make his affair easy and make a way out for him. If something happens and they take him however, he must give the rights to its people.”

THE RULING ON CUTTING THE HAIR IN DIFFERENT LEVELS – SHAIKH ABDUL-MUHSIN AL-‘ABBAD

THE RULING ON CUTTING THE HAIR IN DIFFERENT LEVELS – SHAIKH ABDUL-MUHSIN AL-‘ABBAD

Question: Cutting the hair in different levels, such that the top is longer than the hair on the sides?

Answer: “What is apparent is that it resembles Qaza’ because Qaza’ is to shave some of the head and leave other parts. And this is shortening some of the head and leaving other parts. He should either shorten all of it or leave all of it just as in shaving the head. He shaves all of it or leaves all of it”.

Shaykh bin Baz on delaying the marriage of a young woman until completion of high school or university education.

On delaying the marriage of a young woman until completion of high school or university education.

Question:

There is a widespread custom of a young woman or her father refusing those who propose to her until she has completed her high school or university education, or so that she may study for a number of years. What is the ruling on that? And what is your advice to those who do so, so that the young women might reach the age of thirty or more without marrying?Answer:

My advice to all young men and women is to marry without delay and to hasten to it, if conditions permit, as the Prophet sallallaahu alayhi was salaam said:

‘O you young men! Those among you who have the means and the ability should marry, because it restrains the eyes (from evil glances) and preserves the private parts (from immorality). And whoever is unable to do so, should fast because it is a protection for him.’ (Al-Bukhari no. 5066 and Muslim no. 1400)

And he sallallaahu alayhi was salaam said:

‘If one whose religion and character pleases you proposes to you, then marry (your daughter to) him. If you do not do so, it will be a cause of trial in the land and great corruption.’ (At-Tirmithi no. 1084)

Narrated by At-Tirmithi with a Hasan chain of narrators.

And he sallallaahu alayhi was salaam said:

‘Marry productive, loving women, because I will have the largest number of followers on the Day of Resurrection.’ (Abu Dawud no. 2050, An-Nasa’i no. 3229, Ahmad 3/158, 245 & Ibn Hibban no. 4028)

Narrated by Imaam Ahmad and authenticated by Ibn Hibban.

It is also necessary due to the many benefits indicated by the Prophet sallallaahu alayhi was salaam, such as averting one’s gaze, protecting the private parts (from sin), increasing the size of the Muslim community, and safety from great corruption and evil consequences. May Allaah grant all of the Muslims success in attaining that wherein lies righteousness in the matter of their religion and their earthly life. Verily, He is All-Hearing, Near.

Why are many Youth attracted to extremism and fall prey to it?

Why are many Youth attracted to extremism and fall prey to it?

The Prophet predicted that the extremists that will emerge at the end of times will be young in age and weak in intellect.

Narrated `Ali: I heard the Prophet (ﷺ) saying, “In the last days (of the world) there will appear young people with foolish thoughts and ideas. They will give good talks, but they will go out of Islam as an arrow goes out of its game..”

[Reported by al-Bukhari no. 5057]

Imam al-’Adheemabaadi (may Allah have mercy upon him) said:

“young people with foolish thoughts and ideas young in age and weak in intellect. It says in an-Nihaayah [the famous dictionary written by Ibn al-Athir]: (حداثة السن) is a euphemism for youth” [‘Awn al-Ma’bood]

So we learn that typically the extremists are of this description. Their young age means they are inexperienced and not knowledgable. Thus, they are more prone to extreme thinking and actions.

Shaikh Abdul-Muhsin al-’Abbad (may Allah preserve  him) said:

“young in age, that is, they are youth. They are described as being young in age meaning they did not reach the age until they experience the affairs [of the world and religion] like those who are older experience it and understand it. Verily, some of the youth [hope] to acquire things fast or are daring/bold towards whose consequences are not praiseworthy. This is because they did not obtain firmness in opinion and firmness upon the truth” [Sharh Sunan Abu Dawood no. 542]
