There are also some Angels
who write down the deeds of human beings.

“But verily, over you (are appointed Angels in charge of mankind) to watch you, honorable, writing down (your deeds), they know all that you do”

(Al-Infitar 82:10-12)

“Not a word does he (or she) utter, but there is a watcher by him ready (to record it)”

(Qaf 50: 18)

One of the companions of Imaam Ahmad, may Allah have mercy upon him, visited him while he was sick. He found him groaning from the sickness. He said:

“O Abu ‘Abdullaah! Are you groaning?”

Tawus said: ‘Indeed, the Angels write down everything, even the groan of a sick person, because Allah says:

“Not a word does he (or she) utter, but there is a watcher by him ready (to record it)”

(Qaf 50: 18)”‘

Therefore, Abu ‘Abdullaah began to have (more) patience, and he stopped groaning, [1] because everything is written down. “Not a word does he (or she) utter?” – Meaning any word uttered by you is written. However, you might be rewarded or punished for it. This is based on the saying that was said.

Question:What is the ruling on swearing by saying: by the Right of the Quran and by the Right of the Womb (ie. Kinship)?

Question:
What is the ruling on swearing by saying: by the Right of the Quran and by the Right of the Womb (ie. Kinship)?

Answer:
If the intent is by the revealed Quranic verses then this is an attribute from the attributes of Allah and it is permissible to swear by this. And if the intent is by the paper, and the ink, and the book covers; then this is considered swearing by other than Allah, and is not permissible. And also like that (swearing by the Right of the Qur’an) is swearing by the Right of the Womb. The Messenger, may Allah send blessings and peace upon him and his family, said: “Whomsoever must swear, then swear by Allah or remain silent”

And most of them follow nothing but conjecture:

Surah Yunus, Verse 35:
Say: “Is there of your (Allah’s so-called) partners one that guides to the truth?” Say: “It is Allah Who guides to the truth. Is then He, Who gives guidance to the truth, more worthy to be followed, or he who finds not guidance (himself) unless he is guided? Then, what is the matter with you? How judge you?”
Surah Yunus, Verse 36:
And most of them follow nothing but conjecture. Certainly, conjecture can be of no avail against the truth. Surely, Allah is All-Aware of what they do.
Surah Yunus, Verse 37:
And this Quran is not such as could ever be produced by other than Allah (Lord of the heavens and the earth), but it is a confirmation of (the revelation) which was before it [i.e. the Taurat (Torah), and the Injeel (Gospel), etc.], and a full explanation of the Book (i.e. laws and orders, etc, decreed for mankind) – wherein there is no doubt from the the Lord of the ‘Alamin (mankind, jinns, and all that exists).

Question: I spend some long hours cooking and that is to prepare the food for my husband. I am eager to benefit in this time, so I listen to the Noble Quran whether on the radio or tape. So is my action correct?

Shaikh Fawzan hafidhuhallah was asked:

Question: I spend some long hours cooking and that is to prepare the food for my husband. I am eager to benefit in this time, so I listen to the Noble Quran whether on the radio or tape. So is my action correct or is it not necessary for me to do this action because Allah the Exalted said:

So, when the Quran is recited, listen to it, and be silent that you may receive mercy. [i.e. during the compulsory congregational prayers when the Imam (of a mosque) is leading the prayer (except Surat Al-Fatiha), and also when he is delivering the Friday-prayer Khutbah]. [Tafsir At-Tabari, Vol.9, Pages 162-4]

Answer: “All praise is due to Allah. There is no harm to listen to the Noble Quran through the radio or recording and a person is working. And that does not contradict the His statement:

So, when the Quran is recited, listen to it, and be silent that you may receive mercy. because the silence that is desired is according to the ability and the one who is busy is silent for the Quran in accordance to his ability”.

The greatest of advice:

Advice is definitely beneficial, but who can give better advice than the Creator of existence?

O mankind! There has come to you a good advice from your Lord (i.e. the Quran, ordering all that is good and forbidding all that is evil), and a healing for that (disease of ignorance, doubt, hypocrisy and differences, etc.) in your breasts, – a guidance and a mercy (explaining lawful and unlawful things, etc.) for the believers.

And if you ask them who created them, they will surely say: “Allah”. How then are they turned away (from the worship of Allah, Who created them)?

Our journey through life in four verses:

From Nutfah (male and female fluids) He created him, and then set him in due proportion;
Then He makes the Path easy for him;
Then He causes him to die, and puts him in his grave;
Then, when it is His Will, He will resurrect him (again).
