[67:1-2]

Blessed is He in Whose Hand is the dominion, and He is Able to do all things.

Who has created death and life, that He may test you which of you is best in deed. And He is the All-Mighty, the Oft-Forgiving; [67:1-2]

The beauty of the Qur’an

The beauty of the Qur’an (The speech of the Most-High):

“Verily, this Qur’an narrates to the Children of Israel most of that in which they differ” [Qur’an, surat an-Naml (27): 76].

So, the Qur’an is the Word of Allah, The Most High, letter and meaning. He really Spoke it and bestowed it upon Angel Gabriel, the trustworthy, who then brought it down upon the heart of Muhammad (صلى الله عليه و سلم) so that he may be one of those who warn the people, in the plain Arabic language.

The Qur’an is the last Revelation, brought down by Allah upon Muhammad (صلى الله عليه و سلم) in parts over a period of twenty three years as necessitated by Allah’s Wisdom. In addition, its revelation is either original or occasional, meaning that some of it is brought down in response to a certain occasion that necessitated its revelation, and some of it is revealed without being due to a certain reason. Also some of it is revealed as a narration of a past condition that occurred to the Prophet (صلى الله عليه و سلم) and his companions, whilst some of it comes down as original Legislations, Revealed for the first time. This is according to what has been mentioned by the people of knowledge pertaining to this matter.

  • Furthermore, the Qur’an is a guideline, a book in which instructs how one should live their life. It contains stories of the past (i.e stories of previous nations and Prophets), advice and warnings, how one should know their Lord and worship Him, etc. The Qur’an is also the last of a succession of books sent by Allah to mankind, we are aware of the Torah and Gospel, but yet many of us are unaware of the Qur’an being a book sent from the Lord of Abraham.

… This is from the Grace of Allah to us and to mankind

Surah Yusuf, Verse 38:

“And I have followed the religion of my fathers, – Ibrahim (Abraham), Ishaq (Isaac) and Ya’qub (Jacob)], and never could we attribute any partners whatsoever to Allah. This is from the Grace of Allah to us and to mankind, but most men thank not (i.e. they neither believe in Allah, nor worship Him).

And for Allah that is not hard or difficult (i.e. very easy for Allah).

Surah Ibrahim, Verse 19:

Do you not see that Allah has created the heavens and the earth with truth? If He will, He can remove you and bring (in your place) a new creation!

Surah Ibrahim, Verse 20:

And for Allah that is not hard or difficult (i.e. very easy for Allah).

Surah Al-Isra, Verse 36-38

Surah Al-Isra, Verse 36:

And follow not (O man i.e., say not, or do not or witness not, etc.) that of which you have no knowledge (e.g. one’s saying: “I have seen,” while in fact he has not seen, or “I have heard,” while he has not heard). Verily! The hearing, and the sight, and the heart, of each of those you will be questioned (by Allah).

Surah Al-Isra, Verse 37:

And walk not on the earth with conceit and arrogance. Verily, you can neither rend nor penetrate the earth, nor can you attain a stature like the mountains in height.

Surah Al-Isra, Verse 38:

All the bad aspects of these (the above mentioned things) are hateful to your Lord.

(English – Mohsin Khan)

We wish for no reward, nor thanks from you.

Surah Al-Insan, Verse 9:

(Saying): “We feed you seeking Allah’s Countenance only. We wish for no reward, nor thanks from you.

Surah Al-Insan, Verse 10:

“Verily, We fear from our Lord a Day, hard and distressful, that will make the faces look horrible (from extreme dislikeness to it).”

(English – Mohsin Khan)

And who is truer in statement than Allah?

Surah An-Nisa, Verse 87:
Allah, none has the right to be worshipped but He. Surely, He will gather you together on the Day of Resurrection about which there is no doubt. And who is truer in statement than Allah?

(English – Mohsin Khan)

When you are greeted with a greeting…

Surah An-Nisa, Verse 86:

When you are greeted with a greeting, greet in return with what is better than it, or (at least) return it equally. Certainly, Allah is Ever a Careful Account Taker of all things.
