قال شيخ الإسلام ابن تيمية:
” ليس في كتاب الله آية واحدة يَمدَحُ فِيهَا أَحَدًا بِنَسَبِهِ، ولا يَذُمُ أَحَدًا بِنَسَبِهِ، وإنما يَمدحُ بالإيمانَ والتقوى، ويَذمَ بالكفرِ والفسوقِ والعصيان ” .

Shaykhul islaam Ibn Taymiyah said: There is not one verse in the book of Allah in which one is praised due to his lineage, nor one in which one is dispraised due to his lineage. Rather one is praised with Eeman and Piety and dispraised with disbelief, evil deeds, and sins.”

قال معالي الشيخ د. صالح الفوزان حفظه الله :
تَمَسَك بالسُّنة في أي مكان من الأرض ولا تنظر لإرضاء الناس أو مداراة الناس، تمسك بالسنة في اللحية وفي غيرها ولا تتنازل عن شيء من دينك لأجل إرضاء الناس
Sheikh salihul fawzan may Allah preserve him said:
Hold firmly to the Sunnah anywhere you are in the world, and do not look to please the people or to display flattery and deceit (for the sake of ‘friendliness’). Hold firmly to the sunnah with regards to the beard and other than it, and do not not forgo anything from your deen for the sake of pleasing the people.
