They Knew The Reason For Their Punishment…

*They Knew The Reason For Their Punishment*

It was said to Abū Sulaimān al-Daaraanee رحمه الله: “Why is it that the intelligent ones have ceased to blame those who had offended them?

He said: “They knew that it was Allāh who had put them to trials because of their sins.”

If you forgot to pray the previous salaat, join the salaat with the intention of the previous salaat | Sh. Uthaymeen

Shaykh Uthaymeen رحمه الله said:

When you enter the Masjid during the standing of salaatul Ishaa and you remember that you didn’t pray Maghrib, join and pray with the congregation with the intention of (praying) Maghrib. Then when the Imam stands for the fourth rakk’at, you sit from the third (rakk’at) and wait until the Imam finishes, and you finish with him.

ويجوز أن تسلم بعد الثالثة ثم تدخل مع الإمام فيما

بقي من صلاة

And it is permissible that you conclude the salaat after the third (rakk’at) then join with the Imam from what is remaining from the salaat.

👈وحب الدنيا ، والمال وطلبه أصل كل سيئة

Imam Ibn Qayyim رحمه الله said:

The love of knowledge and seeking it is the orgin of all obedience. The love of the worldly-life, wealth and seeking it is the origin of all shortcoming.

Directing One’s Complaints to Allah

*Directing One’s Complaints to Allah*

Imam Ibn al-Jawzi (may Allah have mercy upon him) said:

“Surely the Salaf used to dislike complaining to the creation. Complaining, even though there is comfort in it, indicates weakness and humiliation. Patience from it is evidence of strength and honor” [at-Thabaat ‘indal-Mamaat (1/55)]

Shaikhul Islaam Ibn Taymiyyah (may Allah have mercy upon him) said: “Verily complaints should be directed towards Allah, the Exalted as the pious servant [Ya’qub] said: “I only complain of my grief and sorrow to Allah [12:86]” [Minhaaj us-Sunnah (4/244)]

*Is Complaining to Others Haram?*

Shaikhul-Islaam Ibn Taymiyyah (may Allah have mercy upon him) said: “If he complains to others due to what is in complaining of comfort, just as one afflicted with a calamity complains about his calamity to the people without intending to know what will benefit him nor seeking aid in disobedience, then this decreases his patience. However, it is not absolutely sinful except if it is accompanied with that which is unlawful, like one who is afflicted and is discontent [with the calamity]” [Majmoo’ al-Fatawa (14/463)]

Shaykh Ali Tuwayjiri on Snapchat

An translated excerpt from a audio where Shaikh Ali Tuwayjiri (mag Allah preserve him) discusses Snapchat.

Shaikh Ali at-Tuwayjiri (may Allah preserve him) said in regards to Snapchat:

“In reality we are in calamity in this time period. Nowadays we have what is called Snapchat and the likes of these terms. A person takes a picture of everything for you. That is, if you follow his Snapchat, you will see things which you will not see even if he ate next to you! You wont see it. However, he takes the picture himself. [You see in it] how he eats, how does he ride, where does he go. Then what my brother? What will this lead to? By Allah, there is no good in picture-taking. A person needs concealment my brother, if Allah, the Exalted concealed you. Especially those who take pictures of some of the congregants and some of the people without their consent. It is not allowed to take a picture of someone without the permission of that person. Even if we were to say that it is permissible to take pictures with these devices, you still cannot take a picture of me except with my permission. If you wanted to give me water, you cannot force me [to accept it]. You would take my permission. If I want it [I will take it] or otherwise you cannot force me. And no one says water is haram for one who is not fasting. [Nowadays] if someone [wants to] take a picture of you, then a picture is taken of you. I am not pleased that I am seen in this situation. Some of them do things which are not good. They take a picture/video and then go to a specific part of it and make the person’s mouth open. They make his mouth appear open and then take a picture of this scene. So the people think that this man is always like this (i.e. in this condition). Do not harm him. Leave off picture-taking. There is no good in picture-taking my brother. It is sufficient for you that Allah spread the Religion of Muhammad (ﷺ) for 1400 years through clarification and writing. Not through picture-taking ever! Yes”
