Saalih Bin Abdillah Bin Humaid, one of the major scholars of Saudi Arabia said: We are Salafis.

Saalih Bin Abdillah Bin Humaid, one of the major scholars of Saudi Arabia said:

We are Salafis. And we ascribe to the Salaf Us Saalih (pious predecessors)… it is compulsory upon us to tell others that the way of the Salaf is not a Madhab. And when we say it is neither a Madhab nor a Sect we must clarify this. And also to search within ourselves as to whether or not we hold onto that which it (the way of the Salaf) entails.

Regarding the Salaf Us Saalih Allah said about them: “The ones who preceeded from the emigrants (Muhajireen) and the helpers (the Ansaar) and those who follow them in goodness.” Therefore we have the emigrants, the helpers and those who follow them in goodness. And this encompasses all of those who try their best to follow this way. Then Allah said in Surah Hashr: “And (it is) for the poor emigrants who have been driven out from their homes and their belongings, who seek bounty from Allah and help Allah and His messenger. They are the loyal. (8) Those who entered the city and the faith before them love those who flee unto them for refuge, and find in their breasts no need for that which hath been given them, but prefer (the emigrants) above themselves though poverty become their lot. And whoso is saved from his own avarice – such are they who are successful. (9) And those who came (into the faith) after…” And those who came after them even in the time of the companions, meaning after conquering Makkah

“The ones who preceeded from the emigrants (Muhajireen) and the helpers (the Ansaar) and those who follow them in goodness.” From the time of the Companions until the day of judgment. And here you have: And those who came (into the faith) after them say: Our Lord! Forgive us and our brethren who were before us in the faith, and place not in our hearts any rancour toward those who believe. Our Lord! Thou art Full of Pity, Merciful.” The strongest point which embodies this was when the Prophet (صلى الله علبه و سلم) was asked regarding the saved sect he said: “They are upon what I am upon and my companions.” This is the Salafeeyah that we are speaking about.

And it is not like… although the virtuous generations embody this we must clarify that we ascribe to a methodology and not toward people. Anywhere we find the truth it must be our goal. And this is good speech however when it comes to application we need to examine ourselves…

Therefore the method is to ascribe ourselves to the methodology and not to particular individuals and to take the evidences as our judge and not (an specific individual’s) understanding of the evidences. To the evidences from the book of Allah and the Sunnah of the Messenger not to the understanding of (specific) individuals. The understanding of men has an honourable position however evidences are needed for their statements but their statements are not the evidences themselves and we respect the people of knowledge and they are the best examples for us in terms of being in congruence with the truth. Therefore we seek help (in understanding the evidences) through the understanding of the pious predecessors who were righteous scholars who nurtured those who followed them however their statements are in need of evidences and their statements are not used as evidences.

Combing two salawat before departing | Sh. Uthaymeen

Shaikh Ibn ul-‘Uthaymeen rahimahullah

Question: Some people take the allowance of combining between prayers on travel. For example between dhuhr and asr. So they combine in advance and they know that they will reach their place of residence before asr prayer. So is this allowed?

Answer:”Yes, this is allowed. However, if he knows or most likely thinks that he will reach before asr time, then what is better is not to combine because there is no need for combining”

The Matoon a Student of Knowledge Memorizes after Memorizing the Quran – Shaikh Ibn ul-Uthaymeen

Question: If a student of knowledge finishes memorizing the Quran, does he start with Saheehayn or does he start with the Matoon?

Shaikh: What Matoon?

Questioner: Like Usool ath-Thalatha and Umdat ul-Ahkam and other than it

Shaikh: “I see that he focuses on the books of Sunnah from the books written on this [subject]. As for the Saheehayn, then Yes, no doubt that they are important. However, as you know there are Ahaadith in Saheehayn that people do not need much, like [Ahaadith on] transactions and agriculture and other than it. So let him memorize after that, for example, Bulugh al-Maram or Umdatul Ahkam. Then after this, let him come to Tawheed and Aqeedah and the Matoon of Fiqh”.

The Ruling on Imported Meat That is Slaughtered by Electrocution – Shaikh Bin Baz

Question: What is the ruling on the chicken which comes from France? What we heard is they slaughter by electrocution. What is obligatory upon the ministers of commerce. Please benefit us may Allah grant you Success.

Answer: “This subject been posed more than once and we spoke about it more than once. We spoke about it with the ministry of commerce more than once and there was correspondence between us and them. What is known is that everything that comes to this land it is known and permissible. There is no doubt in it and among them are good and well-known things, in terms of slaughtered meat and other than that. The origin of what comes to [us] from the people of the Book is permissibility. The origin of what the People of the Book slaughter is permissiblity. This is the origin. So what comes to us from the lands of the People of the Book from the Jews and Christians, its origin is permissibility because Allah allowed us the food of the People of the Book. Their food is their slaughtered meat, which comes from France, England, Denmark, or what is similar to that from the lands of the Christians. Likewise, the lands of the Jews if there is between us and them a relationship. It is permissible for us because this is their food and it is not upon us that we inspect or that we say perhaps such [occurred during slaughter] or such and such. If we know it was slaughtered according to other than the Islamic slaughtering, like by strangling or electrocution and the likes of that, if we know this occurred to this meat we do not eat it. If we do not know, then origin is permissibilty like the slaughtered meat of the Muslims. The origin is permissible like the slaughter of the Muslims until we know that the Muslim slaughtered it according to other than the Islamic slaughtering. So like this we take the allowance and easiness and leave off the blame and unnecessary burden”.

The Ruling on Leaving Off the Quran Due to Work – Shaikh Ibn ul-Uthaymeen

Question: I work as a English teacher and I do not have the time to read the Quran because I work during the day in the school until Two O’ Clock in the afternoon. After that I prepare the lessons at my house until sleep overcomes me because I have a lot of material [to prepare]. So is there sin upon me for leaving off reciting the Quran? Jazakallahu Khairan

Answer: “If it is possible to combine between reciting the Quran and establishing the obligation of teaching, then this is better. So if it is not possible, then teaching is more deserving because teaching is an obligation upon the servant. Reciting Quran is from the Sunnah, no doubt this woman will read the Book of Allah when reciting in her prayer whether Fatihah or otherwise. So she is not by that one who abandons the Quran”.
