There is not a heart from the hearts except it has clouds like the clouds of the moon.

The Prophet sallahu alayhi wa salam said:

ما من القلوب قلبٌ إلا و له سحابةٌ كسحابةِ القمرِ ، بينما القمرُ يُضيءُ إذ عَلَتْه سحابةٌ ، فأظلَم ، إذ تجلَّتْ

“There is not a heart from the hearts except it has clouds like the clouds of the moon. If the clouds cover the moon when it is shining, it turns dark and when it goes away it appears”

[Saheeh Jami no. 5682]

Imam San’aani rahimahullah said:

“That is the hearts. Sometimes it is bright and the meanings are recalled and it remembers its Lord. Sometimes is is dark and does not realize anything”

[Tanweer Sharh Jami as-Sagheer]

Imam al-Munaawi rahimahullah said:

“The reason for the Hadith was mentioned in al-Firdaws that Umar asked Ali about a man who is speaking then forgets [what he is saying] then remembers. So Ali said he heard the Messenger sallahu alayhi wa salam said the following narration”

[Fayd ul-Qadir (5/466)]

This is very interesting as it explains that phenomena when we suddenly forget what were saying in a middle of a conversation. The full narration mentions the following:

Ali said radiallah anhu said:

وبينا الرجل يحدث الحديث إذ علته سحابة فنسي ، إذ تجلت عنه فذكر

“While a man speaks some speech, the clouds cover [his heart] so he forgets. When it clears, he remembers”

Darussaafi's avatarSalafiyyah

Shaikh Muqbil Ibn Hadi al-Wadi’ee rahimahullah:

Question: What is the ruling on the reciting Takbir in unison on ‘eid?

Answer: “This has not been reported from the Prophet sallahu alayhi wa salam. So we do not advise this and if anyone did this we advise them not to do it. And we cannot rule that this person is an innovator and in Allah aid is sought.”

Question: What is the ruling on sending peace and blessings upon the Prophet and his wives between the Takbirat of eid?

Answer: “I do not know anything reported on this from the Prophet sallahu alayhi wa salam”

An Unauthentic Wording for the Eid Takbeerat – Shaikh Abdul-Muhsin al-‘Abbad

Darussaafi's avatarSalafiyyah

Question: In our land, if the people gather for the Eid prayer and the Imam makes Takbir in the following form:

Allahu Akbar, Allahu Akbar, La ilahi illa Allah, Allahu Akbar, Allahu Akbar, walilahi al-Hamd. Allahu Akbar Kabeerah, wa Alhamdulliah Katheera, wa Subhanallahi Bukhratan wa Aseelah. Then the people repeat this after him. So what is the ruling on this action and is this remembrance established?

Shaikh Abdul-Muhsin al-Abbad said in regards to the wording:

“It is has come from some of the Companions the wording: Allahu Akbar, Allahu Akbar, La ilahi illa Allah, Allahu Akbar, Allahu Akbar, walilahi al-Hamd. Also Allahu Akbar Kabeerah has come. As for the wording: La ilaha illalah wahda, sadaqah wa’dah, wa Hazamal-Ahzaab al-Wahdah. I don’t know about it being reported “.

… This is from the Grace of Allah to us and to mankind

Surah Yusuf, Verse 38:

“And I have followed the religion of my fathers, – Ibrahim (Abraham), Ishaq (Isaac) and Ya’qub (Jacob)], and never could we attribute any partners whatsoever to Allah. This is from the Grace of Allah to us and to mankind, but most men thank not (i.e. they neither believe in Allah, nor worship Him).

Some of the virtues of Yaum ul-Arafat

“By the witnessing day [Friday] and by the witnessed day [the Day of ‘Arafaah].” [al-Burooj 85:3].

It was reported from Abu Hurayrah (may Allaah be pleased with him) that the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said: “The promised day is the Day of Resurrection, the witnessed day is the Day of ‘Arafaah, and the witnessing day is Friday.”

Narrated by al-Tirmidhi and classed as saheeh by al-Albaani.

It was reported from Abu Qutaadah (may Allaah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allaah (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) was asked about fasting on the Day of ‘Arafaah. He said, “It expiates for the sins of the previous year and of the coming year.

Narrated by Muslim.

it was narrated from ‘Aa’ishah (may Allaah be pleased with her) that the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said: “There is no day on which Allaah frees more people from the Fire than the Day of ‘Arafaah. He comes close and expresses His pride to the angels, saying, ‘What do these people want?’”

Narrated by Muslim

It is also narrated that

خَيرُ الدُّعَاءِ : دُعَاءُ يَومِ عَرَفَةَ

The best du’aa is the du’aa on the Day of ‘Arafah

(Reported by At-Tirmidhee (#3585)

and Authenticated by al-Imam Albani rahimahullah

Let us hasten to seek Allah’s reward while hastening just as fast to seek His forgiveness, let’s not take a beautiful opportunity like this for granted and let it pass us.

May Allah overlook the shortcomings of our brothers and sisters who passed away, and may He grant our brothers and sisters across the globe istiqamah, salaam and sakinah, ameen

Rebuking the diseases of nationalism & tribalism

It was narrated from Ubayy ibn Ka‘b that a man boasted in an arrogant manner of his tribal lineage, so he told him to bite his father’s penis, and he did not use a metaphor. The people looked askance at him, so he said to the people: I can see what you are thinking, and I can only say this: that the Messenger of Allah (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) instructed us: “If you hear someone boasting in an arrogant manner of his tribal lineage, then tell him to bite his father’s penis, and do not use a metaphor.”

Narrated by Ahmad (35/157); classed as hasan by the commentators on al-Musnad.

It was narrated from Ubayy (may Allah be pleased with him) that a man boasted of his tribal lineage, and Ubayy told him to bite his father’s penis, and they said: You were never given to obscene speech! He said: We were instructed to do that.

Narrated by Ahmad (35/142); classed as hasan by the commentators on al-Musnad and as saheeh by al-Albaani in Saheeh al-Jaami‘.

Shaykh al-Islam Ibn Taymiyah (may Allah have mercy on him) said:

Hence some of the scholars said that this indicates that it is permissible to bluntly state the name of the private part if there is a need to do so or there is an interest to be served thereby, and this does not come under the heading of obscene speech that is forbidden, as in the hadith of Ubayy ibn Ka‘b, according to which the Prophet (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) said:

“If you hear someone boasting in an arrogant manner of his tribal lineage, then tell him to bite his father’s penis, and do not use a metaphor.” Narrated by Ahmad. And Ubayy ibn Ka‘b heard a man saying: O So and so, and he said: Bite your father’s penis. Something was said to him about that, and he said: This is what the Messenger of Allah (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) instructed us to do (in the case of such a person).
