My love for the Qameese/ Thobe:

My love for the Qameese:

Growing up I used to playfully mock the deen in which I now follow. Certainly my heart was blind towards the Haqq. Never would I have thought growing up that I would wear a qameese, or even take it to be my favourite garment. It was a transition with many challenges, from tucking in my qameese when friends and family seen me, to putting it on only when I attend the Masajd… It was a transition which moulded me to care less what people care to say. Though the qameese isn’t necessarily considered wajib to some, it remains my favourite item to wear because of the benefit it brings.

Some of the benefits include:
° Comfort
° Being greeted by fellow ikhwaan
° Modesty
° Awrah being fully covered during and outside of salat
° & that it was the most beloved garment to our Nabi ﷺ.

Indeed it was a dress of customs, but I am not aware of any other type of garment which covers your awrah as the qameese does. It is undeniable that when one goes in rukku’ or sajdah that their pants cups their awrah. Allah commands us to observe modesty yet we meet him (In salat) sometimes in tight garments where our shirt rides up in sujood, or the shape of awrah is visible, wAllahul musta’an.

This was a brief illustration on my personal love for the Qameese, furthermore:

Imam Shawkani rahimahullah said:

Narrated by Umm Salamah, may Allah be pleased with her, that: The most beloved garment to the Prophet (ﷺ) is the qameese.
Reported in Tirmidhi

Imam Shawkani rahimahullah said:
The Hadith proves the recommendation of wearing the qameese. Verily it was the most beloved clothing to the Prophet sallahu alayhi wa salam because it is more capable of covering the body than the rida (upper garment) and izar (lower garment) which are in need of tightening and other than that unlike the qameese”

(Nayl al-Awtaar)

**But the qameese is a Sunnah of custom not a Sunnah of ibaadah**

Asking about that which does not concern him

Imam Suyuti rahimahullah said:

Chapter: Asking about that which does not concern him

“From that [the innovations] is for a man to ask his brother: where did you come from? What do you want? And he is solliciting information [to spread/broadcast]

then do not do it when you are alone

On the authority of Usamaah ibn Shareek radiallahu anhu that the Prophet sallahu alayhi wa salam said:
ما كرهتَ أن يراهُ الناسُ فلا تفعلهُ إذا خلوتَ
“Whatever you dislike that people see from you, then do not do it when you are alone”

[Graded Hasan by al-Albani in Saheeh Jami no. 5659]

Imam al-Munaawi rahimahullah said:
أي كنت في خلوة بحيث لا يراك إلا الله تعالى والحفظة وهذا ضابط وميزان
“That is: you are alone such that none can see you except Allah and the Angels who record. This is the principle and the scale [to measure yourself or remind yourself of]”

[Fayd ul-Qadeer Sharh Jami as-Sagheer]

So this Hadith teaches us to remind ourselves not to do in private what we would dislike anyone seeing from us in public. Likewise, that Allah is always observing us as He, the Exalted said:
إِنَّ اللَّهَ كَانَ عَلَيْكُمْ رَقِيباً
Surely, Allah is always watching over you
[4:1]

Say it is He Who has created you,

Surah Al-Mulk, Verse 23:

Say it is He Who has created you, and endowed you with hearing (ears), seeing (eyes), and hearts. Little thanks you give.

Surah Al-Mulk, Verse 24:

Say: “It is He Who has created you from the earth, and to Him shall you be gathered (in the Hereafter).”

HOW TO MOVE THE FINGER IN TASHAHHUD?

HOW TO MOVE THE FINGER IN TASHAHHUD? – SHAIKH AL-ALBANI

Question: What is the way of moving the finger in Salah-in the Tashahhud?

Answer: There is the Hadith of Wa’il ibn Hujr that he saw the Prophet sallahu alayhi wa salam when he sat in Tashahhud in Salah. He said:

“So I saw him moving it, supplicating with it” [Saheeh Sunan Nasai no. 888]

This movement does not mean lowering and raising and this did not come in a Hadith at all. As for the intent of the movement, then it is a movement in its place. It is authentic from Imam Ahmad rahimahullah that he said: “He moves it vigorously“.

And the matter of the Hour is not but as a twinkling of the eye,

Surah An-Nahl, Verse 77:

And to Allah belongs the unseen of the heavens and the earth. And the matter of the Hour is not but as a twinkling of the eye, or even nearer. Truly! Allah is Able to do all things.

Surah An-Nahl, Verse 78:

And Allah has brought you out from the wombs of your mothers while you know nothing. And He gave you hearing, sight, and hearts that you might give thanks (to Allah).

Surah An-Nahl, Verse 79:

Do they not see the birds held (flying) in the midst of the sky? None holds them but Allah [none gave them the ability to fly but Allah]. Verily, in this are clear proofs and signs for people who believe (in the Oneness of Allah).

I love you for the sake of Allaah (Hadith)

It was narrated from Anas ibn Maalik (may Allaah be pleased with him) that a man was with the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) when another man passed by and he said: O Messenger of Allaah, I love this man. The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said to him: “Have you told him?” He said: No. He said: “Tell him.” So he caught up with him and said: I love you for the sake of Allaah. He said: May the one for Whose sake you love me also love you.

Narrated by Abu Dawood (no. 5125) and classed as saheeh by al-Nawawi in Riyadh al-Saaliheen (183) and classed as hasan by al-Albaani in Saheeh Abi Dawood.

(Hadith) Obedience is required…

Narrated by ‘Ali ibn Abi Talib, may Allah be pleased with him, he said that the Messenger (ﷺ) said:
“Obedience is required in only what is good.”

Young brother seeking Allah’s forgiveness, Q:

Q: I am a twenty-one-year old student. Since Allah has blessed me with the gift of Iman (faith), I have decided to expiate for my previous sins and lead an ascetic life seeking Allah’s forgiveness. What is the best course of action you can suggest for me to adopt? May Allah reward you best!

Answer (Shaikh Ibn Baaz):

We advise you to perform Tawbah (repentance) to Allah from all your previous sins, to regret having committed those sins, to remain steadfast in obedience to Allah and His Messenger, and determine not to return to sin again. We also advise you to recite the Qur’an regularly, reflect on its meanings, and to memorize as many Hadiths as you can. In this respect, you may refer to such useful books as Bulugh Al-Maram written by Ibn Hajar, `Umdat Al-Hadith written by Al-Hafiz `Abdul-Ghany Al-Maqdisy, Al-Arba`in Al-Nawawiyah and its supplement by Ibn Rajab. You may also refer to other books such as Al-Tawhid written by Sheikh Muhammad Ibn `Abdul-Wahhab, Al-`Aqidah Al-Wasitiyyah by Sheikh Al-Islam Ibn Taymiyyah, Kashf Al-Shubuhat by Sheikh Muhammad Ibn `Abdul-Wahhab (may Allah be merciful to him).
We also advise you to refer to the greatly beneficial book entitled Zad Al-Ma`ad Fi Hady Khayr Al-`Ibad by Ibn Al-Qayyim and the book Fath Al-Majid Sharh Kitab Al-Tawhid by Sheikh `Abdul-Rahman Ibn Hasan.
