“And strange is that people are unaware of (the virtue of) ten days of Dhul-Ḥijjah,
you will see them striving in the last 10 days of Ramaḍān with good deeds but during Dhul-Ḥijjah you would find ALMOST NONE of them making any difference between these virtues 10 days and other normal days (i.e he does not make any special effort for Dhul-Ḥijjah).”

The Ruling on Women Buying French, Italian, and American Tailored Clothing – Shaikh Muqbil ibn Haadi al-Wad’iee
The Ruling on Women Buying French, Italian, and American Tailored Clothing – Shaikh Muqbil ibn Haadi al-Wad’iee
Question: The female questioner says: There are some French, Italian, and American clothing [available in the stores]. Is there a sin upon the woman who buys the likes of this clothing knowing that she does not buy except what conceals the body? She does not buy them except due to their beauty and their excellent tailoring and she does not intend to imitate the disbelievers?
Answer: “If it does not describe the body such that it is see through or describes the body because it is tight, then there is no harm in this inshallah. Although I advise that the clothing be tailored by righteous female tailors in order for the clothing to be concealing. We found that some clothing of the women is such that perhaps if she wanted to scratch the lowest part of her stomach, then the clothing is not spacious enough for her hand to enter inside [of it]. In the [likes of these clothing] there is harm even in terms of health. Also, in it is the imitation of the enemies of Islam. And in Allah Aid is sought”

A benefit regarding seeking knowledge | Musa Millington
(Knowledge): From the tricks of the Shaytaan: I don’t have enough time to memorize! I have a lot of things to attend to! I have responsibilities! On average we may take two- four hours to get to and come from work. If we are in a car we can listen to the Qur’an and the texts we want to memorize. If we are in a bus we can actually spend time memorizing instead of looking outside the window or checking out our messages on different types of social media. How about lunch time? Do we actually spend a whole hour eating? Or can we spend some time to eat, pray and memorize? And what about at home? Yes we may have responsibilities but what does it take from us to spend at least an hour or two away from our devices to study or memorize something beneficial? In fact we can spend an hour memorizing and an hour studying. Not saying that we are machines, we have to make time for our family, our jobs etc. but from the great deceptions of Shaytaan is that he tells us we have no time and we believe him. So I have a challenge for all. Reduce your usage of all devices to 10-15 minutes per day and use the time you would have used for social media, he said and she said for memorizing, reading, gaining benefit etc and I am sure everyone would see the difference within a week. May Allah guide us to what he loves and is pleased with.

What is the ruling on studying medicine and engineering? Will they be rewarded [for studying it] and will they have reward like the students of Legislated knowledge?
Question: What is the ruling on studying medicine and engineering? Will they be rewarded [for studying it] and will they have reward like the students of Legislated knowledge?
Answer: “Yes, studying the knowledge of medicine, engineering, pharmacy has good in it. If the intention is good, he will be rewarded. He will be rewarded for this if he has the intention to benefit Islam and the Muslims. In this is good. However, it is not like the Legislated knowledge, the knowledge of the Quran and Sunnah. The virtue is only for the Legislated knowledge. This one [who studies engineering and medicine] will be rewarded in accordance to his intention. He will have good and reward in accordance to his intention. Him working and having a profession to earn for himself, his wife, his children, to benefit the Muslims and make them sufficient from the enemies of Islam, then this has good in it according to the intention. In it is also reward. However, the texts and rewards have been reported about Legislated knowledge. Verily knowledge is only the three categories which you have heard. Yes”.

How Should One Interact With a Friend Who Calls Him to Evil? – Shaikh Ibn ul-‘Uthaymeen
How Should One Interact With a Friend Who Calls Him to Evil? – Shaikh Ibn ul-‘Uthaymeen
Question: The listener [to the Noor ‘ala Darb radio program] says: I have a friend who pushes me to evil. He is my friend for seven years. So what should I do with him?
Answer: “It is obligatory upon you to advise this friend who calls you to evil. If he is guided, then it is for himself and if he is not guided, then it is upon you to separate from him. This is because the Prophet (ﷺ) warned from accompanying the evil people. He (ﷺ) said:
The example of a good companion is like that of the musk seller. Either he will give you some musk as a gift or sell it to you or you will find a good smell from him. The example of the bad friend is like the one who blows the bellows. Either he will burn your clothes or you will find a bad smell from him
[Bukhari and Muslim]
This includes a warning from evil companions. It was also reported from the Prophet (ﷺ) that he said:
المرء على دين خليله فلينظر أحدكم من يخالل
A man follows the religion of his friend; so each one should consider whom he makes his friend [Saheeh Sunan Abi Dawood (no. 4833)]
Many people are upon firmness and adhering to the religion. Then when a devil from the devils of mankind is appointed for him, from those who misguide from the straight path, perhaps he will be affected by it. And the infallible one is the one whom Allah protects/preserves [from error]”.

The Reasons Some Youth Regress/Deteriorate – Shaikh Ibn ul-‘Uthaymeen
The Reasons Some Youth Regress/Deteriorate – Shaikh Ibn ul-‘Uthaymeen
Question: There has been an emergence, and we ask Allah that it not be a lot, however we want the cure for it before it spreads. It is the emergence of regression/deterioration after adhering to the religion. A youth is with the youth and sometimes memorizes something from the Quran and attends something from the lessons of Knowledge. However, then his conditions changes to bad [in terms of treating] his previous classmates or his family or within the neighborhood masjid. So what is your advice for him and the likes of him? What is obligatory upon the one who knows his condition?
Answer: “First: I see that this is from pessimism. I mean the statement: that many regress/deteriorate or it has increased or the likes of this. I see many of the youth, and all praise is due to Allah, starting to hold fast to the religion. Those who regressed had something in themselves before the regression/deterioration . However, they did not check and they [then] regressed. However, they are few in number, and all praise is due to Allah. Most of the youth are upon steadfastness and no doubt regression/deterioration has its means. From the greatest of its means is what is found in the satellite channels which we ask Allah, the Exalted, in this place for the government to eliminate them until it [the land] is safe and until it is settled. For we do not see anything greater for the stability [of a land] than the veneration of Allah, the Exalted and staying far away from the prohibitions. If the people apply the Legislation, then this is safety/peace. The one who does not [allow for] safety/peace except out of fear of the ruler, then his safety is weak and he will seize an opportunity [to create harm/instability]. However, if his safety is based on Iman, then this is what will remain.
These satellite channels, no doubt, remove the Iman, remove the good character, and in them is the calamities which pain the hearts. There are things that you hear from them that even the animals do not do, and in Allah refuge is sought. Competition for betrayal, prostitution, foolishness, and things which grey the hair on the head. They make the child grey-haired. If the youth watch the likes of this, then there is no blame connected to them if they regress, and in Allah refuge is sought. However, there is no excuse for them-the youth- because it is obligatory upon the youth to boycott them [i.e. satellite channels], not sit in front of them, and not speak about them. This is obligatory. However, along with that, we ask Allah, the Exalted to unleash the government on these satellite channels and to absolutely prohibit them. For Allah that is not hard and they [the government], inshallah, are able to do this and we hope that they will”

The importance of the student of knowledge organizing his time in seeking Knowledge
The importance of the student of knowledge organizing his time in seeking Knowledge
The Prophet (ﷺ) said:
وَلَكِنْ يَا حَنْظَلَةُ سَاعَةً وَسَاعَةً
However, Oh Handhala, time for this and time for that [Muslim no. 2750]
Shaikh Ibn ul-‘Uthaymeen rahimahullah commented on the hadith saying:
“An hour for [your] Lord, an hour for your family and children, and an hour for himself so that a person can give his soul its relaxation. So that he can give those who have rights [upon him] their rights. This is the justice of the Islamic legislation and its perfection. Verily Allah has a right, so he gives Him, the Exalted, His right. And likewise the soul has a right, so he gives it its right and the people who have rights [upon him] are given their rights. The visitors and guests have rights, so they are given their rights. Until a person establishes all the rights which are upon him in comfort and worships Allah in comfort. This is because if a person is hard on himself he will be bored and tired and waste a lot of the rights upon him…if a person seeks knowledge and feels bored in reviewing any book, then let him move to another book. If he finds himself bored in studying a specific science, then let him move to another one. Like this he will relieve himself and gain a lot of knowledge…” [Sharh Riyad us-Saliheen (2/236)]
Ibn Jama’ah rahimahullah mentioned from the etiquette of a student of knowledge in regards to himself:
“The fifth point, that he divides the time in his night and day and benefit from what remains of his life. For what is remaining of his life is priceless” [Tadhkiratus-Saami’ wal-Mutakallim fi Adaab al-‘Alim wal-Muta’lim pg. 108]
And he said:
“He should hasten in his youth and in the time in his life towards the attainment of knowledge. He should not be deceived by the deception of procrastination and boredom. For every hour that passes from his life does not have a recompense and substitute for it…” [Tadhkiratus-Saami’ wal-Mutakallim fi Adaab al-‘Alim wal-Muta’lim pg. 105]
This is especially true if we know that the Salaf used to benefit from their time.
