Which is more virtuous: The call to prayer (Athaan) or leading the prayer (Al Imaamah)?
The correct stance and Allah knows best is that leading the prayer is more virtuous, because that is what Allah chose for his prophet Sallallahu Alaihi Wassallam, the proofs which have been reported in regards to the virtuous of the Athaan don’t indicate upon that it is more virtuous then leading the prayer.

The Ruling on Straightening the Beard if One Side is Longer Than the Other – Shaikh Abdul-Muhsin al-‘Abbad
Question: If one side of a person’s beard is longer than the other, is it allowed for him to straighten it if its form distorts the face?
Answer: “What is apparent, and Allah knows best, is that a person does not do this. A person does not do anything [to change it]. Allah created the creation [i.e. this person in this form]”.

The Ruling on Joining an Islamic University and One’s Parents are Not Pleased – Shaikh Abdul-Muhsin al-‘Abbad
by darussaafi
Question: Some students leave studying medicine and engineering and other than it from the colleges and join the Islamic university. Their families are not pleased with that. So is that considered disobedience? What is your advice?
Answer: “This is not disobedience because if a person goes to seek knowledge, learn the truth, act upon it, and call towards it, then this is desired. However, it is necessary for him along with that to please his family, do good to them, do what it is possible for him to do from the affairs that will please them. As for leaving knowledge due to them, then he does not do that. Rather he continues seeking knowledge. However, he is eager along with that to please them and improve their thoughts [regarding the situation] by any means possible”.

Wearing sport jerseys
The Lajnah ad-Da’imah was asked the following question :
The Question :What is the ruling on wearing sports outfits that bear logos of non-Muslims such as sports T-Shirts with Italian, German, and American logos or those bearing the names of non-Muslim players?
The Answer : Wearing the outfits that bear logos of non-Muslims has some details:
1 – If such logos refer to the religions of the disbelievers, such as the Cross and the like, it is impermissible to import, sell, or wear these clothes.
2 – If these logos glorify a non-Muslim figure by putting his picture or writing his name on the sporting outfit, this is also Haram (prohibited).
3 – If these logos neither refer to any kind of worship nor glorification of a certain person, rather they are just ordinary commercial logos, then there is no harm in wearing such outfits.
May Allah grant us success.
May peace and blessings be upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and Companions.

Many of the common professional sports
Ash-Shaykh Muhammad bin Ibrahim AaliShaykh, One Of The Previous Muftis of Saudi Arabia, may Allah have mercy upon him, said:
“…Whosoever contemplates upon the state of the modern sport players and what they are upon he will find that they are performing evil actions of which necessitates (total) prohibition, despite what occurs commonly throughout the course of theses games of bias partisanship and the arousal of fitnah, enmity and animosity in the hearts between the winners and the losers and between this so-called party and that so-called party ,which is obvious. While from (the evil) that it contains is that it brings about danger to the bodies of the players, due to the result of them crashing and hitting one another whereas it is rare that their games end without someone being afflicted with an injury or a wound or someone fainting and for that reason the ambulance are (always) present and from (the evil) is that (these games) are established during the times of the prayer which is the result of the prayer being abandon or delayed from its prescribed time and from (the evil) is what the players are exposed to of unlawfully uncovering their awrahs while the awrah of the man is from is belly-button to his knee and whereas you find their clothes to the half point of their thighs and some even lower than that while it is known that the thigh is an awrah…”

The Ruling on Killing Ants and Cockroaches Found in the House
The Ruling on Killing Ants and Cockroaches Found in the House
Shaikh Bin Baz rahimahullah said:
“If harm comes from these insects, then they are killed using the different types removing agents besides using fire due to the statement of the Prophet sallalahu alayhi wa salam:
“Five animals are wicked and are allowed to be killed in and out of the state of ihram: the crow, the kite, the mouse, the scorpion, and the wild animal which poses a threat”. There comes another Saheeh Hadith which mentions the snake.
This Hadith is authentic from the Prophet sallahu alayhi wa salam proves that the legality of killing these mentioned things and its meaning is in regards to the harmful things like the ants or cockroaches, mosquitoes, flies, and wild animals out of defense against their harms.
As for if the ant does not harm, then the Prophet sallalahu alayhi wa salam prohibited killing the ant, bee, hoopoe bird, and shrike. That is if it does not harm anything. If it does harm, then these five mentioned in the Hadith are joined to the permissibility to kill”.

Question: A man works in a store and items that have pictures are sold in this store. So what is upon this worker [i.e. what should he do]?
Answer: “Theses pictures are from what the people have been afflicted with and some canned goods have pictures. So the likes of this are from what the affliction has overcome. So there is no harm in selling it”.

The Different Types of Souls and How to Purify the Soul – Shaikh Salih al-Fawzan
The Different Types of Souls and How to Purify the Soul – Shaikh Salih al-Fawzan
Question: What are the types of souls? And What is the way to purify it and its path as Allah, the Exalted said: Indeed he succeeds who purifies his oneself [91:9]?
Answer: The types of souls mentioned in the Noble Quran are three: the soul that commands evil (أمارة بالسوء), the self-reproaching soul (النفس اللوامة), and the pious soul (النفس المطمئنة). The soul that orders evil is the one who commands its owner to its prohibited desires and following falsehood. As for the self-reproaching soul: it makes its owner feel guilty for what passed it of good and makes him remorseful for it. As for the pious soul: it is the one that feels tranquil with its Lord and His obedience, commands, and remembrance. It is not feel settled/tranquil with other than it. Allamah Ibn Qayyim rahimahullah said: It being called pious (مطمئنة ) is a description of praise for it. And (أمارة بالسوء) is a blameworthy description for it and (النفس المطمئنة) is a description to praise and blameworthiness in accordance to what the soul feels guilty about. The way to purify the soul is by holding fast to the obedience of Allah, the Exalted, preventing it from His disobedience, and prohibited desires”.
